Why I Started my youtube series (and What’s Next).

If you've been watching my YouTube channel lately, you've probably noticed something has shifted.

The videos feel a little more intentional. The stories feel a little more personal. Instead of trying to create the "perfect" vlog, I've been creating videos that feel like little chapters of my life—and that's exactly what Maybe Ally was always supposed to be.

For a long time, I felt like I had to fit into what everyone else on YouTube was doing. Bigger productions. Faster edits. Constant trends. But the more I chased what worked for other people, the further I got from making videos that actually felt like me.

So I decided to stop.

Enter: Maybe Ally:

At its heart, Maybe Ally is about embracing the in-between.

It's about figuring life out while you're living it.

Some weeks that means wandering New York City with a coffee in hand. Other weeks it means sitting down for an honest conversation about creativity, burnout, confidence, or what it's like trying to build a life you're proud of in your thirties.

It's messy.
It's exciting.
It's ordinary.
It's extraordinary.

And that's kind of the point.

I don't want every video to feel like a highlight reel. I want it to feel like you're spending the afternoon with a friend.

Why New York Will Always Be Part of the Story:

Living in New York City naturally shapes so much of who I am.

The city inspires me every single day—not because every day is glamorous (trust me, it's not), but because there's always something worth noticing.

A neighborhood I've never explored.
A tiny coffee shop tucked onto a side street.
A museum exhibit.
A bookstore.
A quiet walk through Central Park.

New York isn't just where I live. It's one of the main characters on this channel.

That's why you'll continue to see city guides, neighborhood adventures, local recommendations, seasonal experiences, and everyday moments woven into my videos.

More Than Just Vlogs:

While vlogs are still a huge part of what I love creating, I also want this channel to grow with me.

That means you'll continue to see:

  • thoughtful book reviews

  • lifestyle chats

  • behind-the-scenes of content creation

  • travel diaries

  • cozy days at home

  • style inspiration

  • monthly reflections

  • conversations about building a creative life

If something genuinely inspires me, chances are it'll find its way onto the channel.

Building Something That Lasts:

One of the biggest lessons I've learned over the past year is that growth doesn't happen overnight.

Some videos surprise me.
Some don't.

Some weeks the numbers are exciting.
Other weeks they're humbling.

But I've realized success isn't just measured by views. It's measured by consistency. By showing up. By creating something I'm proud of even before anyone clicks "play."

That's become the goal.

Not chasing viral moments.

Building a body of work.

What's Next?:

I'm incredibly excited about where Maybe Ally is headed.

You'll see more seasonal series, more thoughtful storytelling, more hidden corners of New York City, more travel, and more conversations that go beyond surface-level updates.

I want every video to leave you feeling inspired to romanticize your own life a little more—to explore your own city, start the creative project you've been putting off, pick up that book you've been meaning to read, or simply appreciate where you are right now.

Whether you've been here since my very first upload or just recently found the channel, thank you for coming along for the ride.

We're still figuring it all out together.

And honestly?

I think that's what makes this chapter so exciting.

Here's to whatever comes next.
