♥︎☽ | Promise you this outfit was put together weeks ago when it wasn't a hellscape outside! What can I say? I’m a true New Yorker. Neutrals are the name of the game and black is a staple not just an option. It was hot enough to try my lace top finally. I've been trying to figure out how to wear it and finally opted for all-black.

Everything else on the outfit is simple enough and stuck to the black motif. I'd wear this regularly but not during heatwaves like the one we are currently in here in NYC. Black really is so simple but can be elevated so easily too. ♥︎

there's something about september in new york city that makes me want to get dressed again.

august is all about surviving the heat and squeezing every last bit of summer out of the city. september feels different. suddenly the mornings are a little cooler, the sidewalks feel a little busier, and everyone seems to be returning to their routines.

and honestly? i love it.

There are some outfits in my closet that I wear once, love, and then somehow forget about. And then there are the outfits I wear all. the. time.

You know the ones. The outfits that make getting dressed easy because you already know they work. The ones you reach for when you're running out for coffee, heading downtown, meeting a friend, spending the afternoon wandering around New York, or just want to feel a little more put together without actually putting that much effort in.

Wardrobe Staples for NYC Women in Their 30s.

There’s something about getting dressed in New York City that makes you rethink your entire wardrobe.

You can leave your apartment in the morning for a coffee run and somehow end up walking three miles, sitting in a café for two hours, running errands, meeting a friend for dinner, and making an impromptu stop somewhere you’ve never been before. Your clothes have to keep up with you.

And honestly? I think getting older has changed the way I think about getting dressed, too.

In my 20s, I was much more willing to buy something simply because I thought it was cute. These days, I want my clothes to be cute and comfortable. I want pieces that can be worn five different ways, shoes I can actually walk in, and a wardrobe that makes getting dressed feel easier instead of more complicated.
