🔶 | What do you think New York City? Think spring is finally showing her face or not? Because I think she finally trying and in honor, I wear a color I usually don't do. ORANGE. I don't know something about it always scares me. Sometimes orange can wash me out especially if I've tanned. So the brighter the better for me. Unless it's that long pleated burnt orange skirt from H&M. Then I can pull orange off with no problem.

I grabbed this skirt for my recent trip to New Orleans. I wanted something easy for whatever date nights were planned. This skirt gets worn a lot around the house and is easily part of my bodega run or supermarket outfit.

there's something about september in new york city that makes me want to get dressed again.

august is all about surviving the heat and squeezing every last bit of summer out of the city. september feels different. suddenly the mornings are a little cooler, the sidewalks feel a little busier, and everyone seems to be returning to their routines.

and honestly? i love it.

The ones you reach for when you're running out for coffee, heading downtown, meeting a friend, spending the afternoon wandering around New York, or just want to feel a little more put together without actually putting that much effort in.

There’s something about getting dressed in New York City that makes you rethink your entire wardrobe.

You can leave your apartment in the morning for a coffee run and somehow end up walking three miles, sitting in a café for two hours, running errands, meeting a friend for dinner, and making an impromptu stop somewhere you’ve never been before. Your clothes have to keep up with you.

And honestly? I think getting older has changed the way I think about getting dressed, too.

In my 20s, I was much more willing to buy something simply because I thought it was cute. These days, I want my clothes to be cute and comfortable. I want pieces that can be worn five different ways, shoes I can actually walk in, and a wardrobe that makes getting dressed feel easier instead of more complicated.
