Ready for the Noise.
Ok. I’m ready for the noise to come back. I've had four days to myself and I'm ready for the silence to end for a bit. Every so often either I go on a trip or Armand will and we allow ourselves time away. Honestly, if I wasn't so tired I maybe would have gone to L.A. too but seeing everything he did in just four days I would have been no good to him lol. I was happy cleaning and rotting on the couch.

My heavens. What a party. The dazzle! The spectacle! The clothes! If anyone knows me well they know the 20’s & the 30’s have some of my favorite clothing styles of any fashion era. Those flapper girls I tell ya! On a whim, I entered the lottery for this one and won! After a slight hiccup, the hubs was kind enough to come with as he was curious about how such a story would be put to stage.
Getting Focused.
You’d think it would be easy for a Capricorn like me who lives in her planner and her phone calendar to be focused and willing to get things done. I gotta tell you that lately it's been a chore. Everything has felt like a chore. It's to the point where I don't feel like doing it because it's felt like a chore. Nothing feels fun. Nothing feels exciting. There's no focus on the things I should be focused on.

Do I start with one of the greatest songs ice ever heard in “G.A.B.”? Or do I start with the powerhouse that is Shaina Taub? Do I talk about Nikki M. James who steals the show as Ida B. Wells? I genuinely don't know where to begin because all of it was wonderful, meaningful, heartbreaking & timely.

To every single mama out there who works so hard to give their children a worthy life. To all of those who struggle with today whether it's because you no longer have your mom around (like myself), the relationship is hard or if you've struggled with becoming a mom — I celebrate all of you today.
Starting Over.
I don’t feel good. Back in 2020, my health was on the line and I made the changes needed to get better. I got better. For the next couple of years, things were fine. My weight ebbed & flowed as it does in life. Last year I noticed I was gaining my weight back faster than I was used to.
Smiling Through.
Not gonna lie. Not looking forward to this weekend. I'm not looking forward to seeing the long lines to buy Mom's flowers, all the chocolates being sold at CVS, all the cute cards that are being sold, or even handwritten. None of it is anything I want to deal with. I wanted to run but realized I couldn't. So here I am distracting myself knowing full well I'll end up feeling it through.

I've been in my masculine energy for so long I think I almost forgot what it was to be soft. I've been hiding, defensive, angry & leading too much. I plan too much. I want too much control. It's always my way.

Where do I begin with this beautiful show about the one and only Marc Summers? From his beginnings as a page on a variety of TV shows to his time hosting the world-famous Double Dare there wasn't any sugar coating to this story. One where in many cases I was shocked to learn new things about the man I had never known.
Polka Dot Lady.
Guys & Dolls it's hot outside today. I'm not prepared for that at all. I'm still in full spring-style swing. 82* today. That's when the real New Yorker comes out of me. How many times could I say “Oh Nahhhh” until I am back inside? Today's outfit will be interesting that's for sure. But until I have to deal with it I'll remember the good times in this polka dot dress.

What a triumph. I had to start there. What the entire company manages to do in the time spent with you is nothing short of incredible. I grabbed my ticket for The Outsiders after a run in with one of its stars on a random day in February on the subway. I had been debating it.
Purple Girl.
Ok. If you've been here a while you know purple is my favorite color. You know I love a casual dress and you know I love any excuse for photos all over Harlem. I wasn't feeling my best that day.

I FINALLY made it. For the longest time I'd wanted to see this show and I was finally able to make it work. The only caveat is that I'd be seeing 2/3 leads. Still, I had to make a decision. Miss Groff or Miss Radcliffe. I had to make a choice. April Ally is so happy February Ally decided to see the show with Daniel Radcliffe. I had more than enough people tell me to make that move. Now don't fret. I still won. I've seen Jonathan in plenty over the years but I got to see Corey Mach do his thing and WOW. Just wow. Exceptional work. A wonderful Frank.
Spring Fight Back!
Didn't think I'd have to try and convince Mother Nature to be more consistent. It's giving men lately am I wrong? Still, in the moments that she shines brightest, I get glimpses of what my spring wardrobe could be & get excited at the prospect of not wearing heavy jackets for a little while!

In this new chapter i’m looking to music a lot to help heal. i’m well aware its a bandaid and not the end all be all. still i’m so eager to dive into it and feel through whatever it is i’m feeling. I could use the healing.

Celebrated the opening of @stalkershownyc last night at the beautiful Hard Rock Hotel! After some light bites and really good drinks, we were treated to a few tricks by Brynolf & Ljung the two performers who truly have you guessing & saying “How’d they do that?”. Then we were off to see the show!

Today I decided that I wanted to do something special for Mom’s heavenly birthday. On the coldest and Windiest day of the week, Armand and I took a bit of Mom from her urn And decided to let her dance on her birthday in the ocean. It was so windy and it was so cold but worth every moment.

The year of firsts continues today as family & friends celebrate my mom’s first heavenly birthday. She would have been 69 years young today. I imagine Armand & I would have given her a gift card so she could buy what she wanted. She loved it when we did that. Grandpa would wanna take her out to eat. She would get texts and calls all day long from so many who loved her.
