International Women’s Day.
I want to tell anyone who identifies as a woman that it is ok to remind folks every single day that there is power within you. Remind people of your confidence. Remind people of who you are and why you're this way. It's ok to be the energy that lights up a room. It's ok to exist and be!
Travel: New Orleans
I loved the people. I loved the food. I loved the culture. I loved the spirit. New Orleans gave me the kind of respite I've been lacking since my mother passed away. A real refresh and focus on life. I got to not think about my troubles for just a little while and I got to embrace love, kindness, and beignets!
Commotion For the Dress?
The theme was Black Excellence and I like to think I showed up! I knew didn't want a traditional gown but also knew I wanted comfort if I was to survive the night. I put my own spin on the theme by adding Vampire vibes to the outfit.
Stoney Clover Lane: New Orleans.
Be still my beating heart. As soon as knew I was coming to New Orleans I knew @stoneyclover would be a stop I'd make. It was my first time visiting a shop that wasn't in New York and this location is gorgeous! It's beautiful and as you can see I had a lot of fun shopping. I picked up quite a things that I'll show you all soon.
Now Traveling…
Heading to New Orleans for a few days. It's my first time there! The catalyst is a wedding but I'm heading there a few days earlier so I get to see all the sights & sounds. Don't worry I didn't forget about the food either! It'll be fun.

You have to listen to people when they tell you to run to a show. You especially listen when it's people who don't nor ally do musical theatre but had a blast! So what did I do? I ran and saw @titaniquemusical and let me just say I didn't stop laughing for 90 minutes straight!
Affection Spell.
This spell binds two people together with the intent being an affection towards each other. A more in-depth love spell would require the second persons permission. This one is as I like to put it, to simply get noticed first.
Communication Spell.
Unfortunately for me, the person I attempted to spell with didn't speak to me. People who are avoidant are so hard to reach because they need healing of their own and it blocks your work in many ways.
In fact, I needed a cord-cutting ceremony a week later to try and help me grow out of my Infatuation.

Are you seeing these jeans! Oh my goodness these jeans. You know I always get a little nervous when I'm trying out a brand I've never shopped at before but I think I struck gold with @everlane and that makes me very happy because I love being able to branch out a bit nowadays.

Go into this play blind. No really go into this play not knowing a thing and you'll be all the better for it. The laughter that comes from your body will be completely genuine and probably unhinged.

You know that feeling you have when a show finishes and you wish you could see it for the 1st time again? That's how I felt after seeing @akimbomusical on Broadway the other night. Goodness me did I feel loved, warm, & so happy to be in this life and willing to live it to the fullest. That's what Kimberly Akimbo does to you. Especially that ending. Never felt more at ease with how I approach the world and all the things I wanna do in it.

First things first. I have never been able to take someone to their first musical ever. The pressure! But I knew that this was special and deserved what is easily for me the best show on Broadway @mjthemusical and let me tell you the look on the man's face after the show said it all. Happy to have given you a birthday to remember @makethecaul!!!
Feeling It Lately.
Having anxieties means stress for me is an almost everyday occurrence in some way. Never at these levels. My mom was a buffer a lot of times. She would shield me from stressors in the form of people & things. I don't have that protection now and stressors are more apparent. It's a new world for me to adjust to and I'm not doing so well.
Recognizing I Need More.
I had a really good conversation at dinner yesterday that got me thinking about what it really means to slowly form destructive patterns, how to recognize them, and more importantly how to stop them before they get out of control. I got to thinking about this month. It'll be a month now since my world changed.
Right Here I Decided.
This is me. Giving family and friends all the permission to be happy and to smile again. Keep talking about all the memories and keep my mom in your heart. I promise you I'll be ok. I'm doing really well right now. No need to call with sadness in your heart. No need to write with sadness. No feeling sorry for me.

This show is poignant and thought-provoking. It's on Broadway at the right time and can present some interesting conversations after the fact. We follow The Comedian Harmonists on their rise to fame in Europe during the 1920s through the early war years — and all the tribulations that came with that.
Trying Routines Again.
I woke up this Monday morning with a weight lifted off my shoulders and a sense of staying present. For so much of my life, I stuck my nose in a planner and moved like a robot. Was it a routine? Or was I coping? Hiding from my problems by burying myself in “work” & people. I've never been more willing to just stay in the now. Be spontaneous as some would tell me. Living a little.

Ask me how long I've been waiting to see @sixbroadway! Not kidding I think I waited an entire year. Finally, all the timing came together and it being my birthday week was the icing on top. I had so much fun with SIX the Musical. Omg. Armand and I left with the biggest smiles on our faces and all the music in our brains.
