I recently had the genuine privilege of attending a captivating performance of “Yellow Face,” a thought-provoking play that delves deeply into the complex and sensitive topic of Asian American identity and representation within the often challenging landscape of the entertainment industry. Starring the exceptionally talented Daniel Dae Kim, this production was enlightening and refreshingly timely.

Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone are two iconic names that, when mentioned together, will certainly entice anyone with a discerning taste for the theatre. Once you arrived at the performance venue, you were warmly welcomed and treated to a wonderful play that captivated the audience. Farrow shines brilliantly with a soft-spoken shyness that belies a deep sense of darkness and desperation as she portrays the unsuspecting character of Sharon, a woman who, after experiencing a painful divorce, takes in a mysterious roommate named Robyn.

I loved the movie Death Becomes Her, and I was initially unsure how its unique story would translate effectively as a musical. However, I’m thrilled to say it’s nothing short of fantastic. The production showcases the truly amazing performances by the incredibly talented Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, Michelle Williams, and Christopher Sieber, all of whom bring their respective characters to vibrant life, along with stunning, eye-catching costumes that create a dazzling world on stage. The time flew by—I had so much fun throughout the entire performance.

I had an absolute blast watching the wildly entertaining show, TEETH at New World Stages. At first, I was somewhat puzzled by the ponchos provided for the front-row attendees, but I quickly realized it was all part of the playful fun, as it turned out to be a splash zone!

The kids are gonna be alright. That’s literally what I said as I put on my coat and walked out after this fantastic show finished. I am 37 years old, and watching the incredible artists of tomorrow up on that stage made me feel something profound.
