Travel: Las Vegas.
After months of working, creating, planning, filming, editing, and generally doing the most in New York City, I finally did something that felt very necessary: I got on a plane and went to Las Vegas.
And honestly? I needed it.
There is something about leaving New York for a little while that makes you realize just how much you have been running on autopilot. I love my city, I love my life here, and I will probably always be a New Yorker at heart, but sometimes you need to step away from your normal routine and let yourself have a little fun.
So, for part of my summer vacation, I headed to Las Vegas for a few days of exploring, eating, relaxing, creating content, seeing ROSALÍA live, and saying yes to some wonderfully random Vegas adventures.
And when I look back at the trip as a whole, it really did feel like the perfect Las Vegas weekend.
There was a little luxury. A little history. A little art. A LOT of food. Live music. Pool time. Spontaneous decisions. And, of course, a few things that could only happen in Vegas.
Here’s how it all went down.
Finally Getting Away From NYC:
The beginning of this trip was really about one thing: getting away.
After spending months working in New York City, I was more than ready for a change of scenery. Vegas felt like the perfect place to press pause for a few days because there is really no shortage of things to see, eat, experience, or get completely distracted by.
I wasn't going into this trip trying to make every single moment productive.
That is something I'm learning to do more of.
Yes, I knew I would be filming. Yes, I wanted to create content. Yes, there were places I wanted to visit and things I wanted to experience.
But I also wanted to actually be there.
And that became one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Starting the Vegas Adventure at Hoover Dam:
Before fully settling into the Vegas resort life, we started the trip with one of Nevada's most iconic landmarks: Hoover Dam.
There is something pretty surreal about standing somewhere that is so recognizable. You have probably seen photos of Hoover Dam countless times, but being there in person is a completely different experience.
It was also a fun way to begin the trip because it immediately reminded me that Las Vegas is more than the Strip.
When you think about Vegas, you probably think about casinos, hotels, restaurants, shows, nightlife, and all of the lights. But there is an entirely different side of the area waiting outside of that bubble.
And Hoover Dam gave us a little taste of that.
After months of city life, getting out and seeing something so massive and completely different from New York was exactly the kind of change of scenery I was looking for.
And Obviously, We Had to Get Tacos:
One of the most important rules of any vacation is that you have to eat well.
Okay, maybe that's not technically a rule.
But it should be.
One of the first food stops of the trip was tacos at one of my favorite Las Vegas spots, and they absolutely hit the spot.
There is something about vacation food that just tastes better. Maybe it's because you're not rushing back to work afterward. Maybe it's because you're hungry from exploring all day. Or maybe it's simply because food is one of the easiest ways to turn a trip into a memory.
Whatever the reason, I was very happy to be eating tacos in Las Vegas.
And yes, I would happily do it again.
Checking Into Fontainebleau Las Vegas:
Then it was time to check into our home base for the trip: Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
And let me just say, this hotel was beautiful.
Fontainebleau gave the trip that little dose of luxury I was craving. After spending so much time working and running around NYC, there was something really nice about having a beautiful place to come back to at the end of the day.
It also became a backdrop for some of the content I created during the trip, which was honestly perfect because there were so many beautiful spaces to photograph and film.
I love when a hotel can be part of the experience rather than just the place where you sleep.
And Fontainebleau definitely felt like part of the Vegas experience.
A Different Kind of Vegas Experience: Princess Diana:
One of the most unexpected highlights of the trip was visiting Princess Diana: A Tribute Exhibition at The Shops at Crystals.
Vegas has a reputation for being loud, flashy, and over-the-top, so stepping into an exhibition centered around Princess Diana created a completely different mood.
It was fascinating to slow down and spend time with an experience that felt more reflective and historical.
I also love adding things like this into a trip because it keeps your itinerary from becoming one-note.
You can absolutely spend a weekend eating, drinking, shopping, partying, and going to shows in Vegas. But there are also exhibitions, museums, art, history, and other experiences that give you a completely different perspective on the city.
And I'm always going to be the girl who wants a little bit of both.
A Little Pool Time:
Of course, no summer trip to Las Vegas would be complete without a pool day.
After all the exploring, sometimes the best activity is doing absolutely nothing.
Or at least pretending you're doing nothing while still taking approximately 400 photos.
The pool day was a chance to slow down, relax, enjoy the sunshine, and let the trip breathe a little.
And I think that balance is important when you're traveling.
You don't have to fill every hour.
Sometimes the memory you end up loving most is the afternoon you spent sitting by the pool with nowhere you needed to be.
The Perfect Vegas Morning:
Then came what might be one of my favorite kinds of travel days: a morning that starts with breakfast and absolutely no need to rush.
We started the morning with breakfast and, finally, I tried the viral flat croissant.
You know the one.
When something becomes that viral online, I always have a tiny moment of hesitation because the internet has a way of making everything look life-changing.
But obviously I had to try it for myself.
And honestly, trying viral food while traveling is one of those little things that makes a trip feel current. You're not just visiting the obvious tourist spots. You're also getting to experience the little internet-famous moments that everyone is talking about.
So yes, the flat croissant made the Vegas itinerary.
Naturally.
Creating Content at Fontainebleau:
After breakfast, it was time to do a little work.
Because this is a creator trip, after all.
One of the fun parts of staying somewhere as beautiful as Fontainebleau was getting to create Instagram content around the property.
This is the part of travel that can be a little funny when you're a content creator.
You can be on vacation and still find yourself thinking about lighting, angles, outfits, locations, photos, videos, and whether you just walked past the perfect backdrop.
But I actually enjoy that part of traveling.
Creating content gives me another reason to pay attention to the details around me. I notice architecture, little corners, beautiful spaces, and moments that I might otherwise walk right past.
And then, once the content was handled, it was time for the main event.
ROSALÍA at T-Mobile Arena:
The biggest highlight of the Vegas portion of the trip?
Seeing ROSALÍA live on her LUX Tour at T-Mobile Arena.
This was one of those moments that I knew was going to be special before we even got there.
There is something about seeing an artist you love live that just hits differently. You can listen to an album over and over again, but being in an arena surrounded by thousands of other people who are there for the same reason is a completely different experience.
And seeing ROSALÍA in Las Vegas made it even more memorable.
It felt like the kind of night that the entire trip had been building toward.
We had explored. We had eaten. We had relaxed. We had created content.
Now it was time to get dressed, head to T-Mobile Arena, and have a night.
And what a night it was.
Fontainebleau's Hall of Excellence:
But because apparently we weren't done having fun yet, the adventures continued.
We explored the incredible Hall of Excellence at Fontainebleau, which gave us another reason to wander around the resort and see something beyond our room and the pool.
This was another reminder of why I like having experiences built into a trip.
Sometimes you don't even realize how much there is to discover until you actually give yourself time to explore.
And Vegas is especially good at that.
There always seems to be another restaurant, another attraction, another hallway leading somewhere interesting, or another thing you didn't know existed until you were already standing in front of it.
Three $10 Tattoos Because... Vegas:
And then we did something that feels very Las Vegas.
We got three iconic $10 tattoos at Koolsville Tattoo.
Yes.
Three.
$10.
Tattoos.
This is exactly the kind of spontaneous vacation decision that makes a trip memorable.
Because would I necessarily wake up in New York City on a random Tuesday and think, "You know what I need today? A $10 tattoo"?
Probably not.
But in Vegas?
Suddenly it makes perfect sense.
There is something about traveling that makes you a little more willing to say yes to the random stuff.
And honestly, I'm glad we did.
Years from now, I might not remember every single meal or every hallway we walked through, but I am absolutely going to remember getting those tattoos in Las Vegas.
Reconnecting With My Inner Child at Circus Circus:
Then we leaned even further into the spontaneous Vegas energy and headed to Circus Circus for SpongeBob's Crazy Carnival Ride.
Because sometimes you just have to embrace your inner child.
After spending the day around luxury resorts, live music, and fancy dinners, there was something hilarious and wonderful about ending up on a SpongeBob carnival ride.
And this is probably my favorite thing about the trip when I look back at it.
It wasn't trying to be one specific type of vacation.
It could be luxurious one minute and completely silly the next.
It could be sophisticated dinner followed by a carnival ride.
It could be an exhibition about Princess Diana followed by $10 tattoos.
It could be a beautiful resort morning followed by screaming along at a concert.
That's Vegas.
And that's also what made this trip so much fun.
Ending the Night at Carbone Riviera:
And because we clearly hadn't eaten enough yet, we ended the night with dinner at Carbone Riviera at Bellagio.
There is something so satisfying about ending a big travel day with a really good dinner.
By this point, we'd packed so much into the day that sitting down for a meal felt like the perfect way to wind things down.
Good food, a beautiful setting, and the feeling of knowing you just had one of those travel days.
The kind where you look back and realize you somehow managed to do five completely different things before dinner.
Very Vegas.
Very us.
What Made This Vegas Trip So Special:
When I think about this trip now, I don't think about it as just a Las Vegas vacation.
I think about it as a reset.
It was a chance to get out of my normal routine, experience somewhere completely different, spend time doing things that made me happy, and create memories that had nothing to do with my usual New York schedule.
And I think that's why the trip felt so good.
There was no single theme.
It wasn't just luxury.
It wasn't just nightlife.
It wasn't just food.
It wasn't just sightseeing.
It was all of it.
Hoover Dam.
Tacos.
Fontainebleau.
Princess Diana.
Pool days.
A viral croissant.
Instagram content.
ROSALÍA.
$10 tattoos.
SpongeBob.
Carbone.
A little bit of everything.
And somehow, it all worked.
Would I Do Vegas Again?
Absolutely.
But I think the biggest takeaway for me was that the best trips aren't always the ones where everything goes perfectly according to plan.
Sometimes the best trips are the ones where you leave room for the random stuff.
The spontaneous tattoo.
The carnival ride.
The meal you didn't plan on being memorable.
The extra few minutes by the pool.
The concert you've been looking forward to.
The little moments between the big ones.
Those are the things that make a trip feel like your trip.
And that's exactly what this Vegas adventure became for me.
A little luxurious. A little chaotic. A little ridiculous.
And a whole lot of fun.
After months of working in New York City, I think I got exactly what I needed: a few days somewhere completely different, a suitcase full of memories, and a reminder that sometimes you really do just need to get away.
Las Vegas, you were very good to me.
And honestly?
I wouldn't have it any other way.
