Hey Guys & Dolls,

How’s the weekend going so far? I know another Monday is looming but that doesn’t mean we can’t make the most out of today right? Let’s talk Accessories! It’s a favorite topic and I can go on for hours about the ones I use for bounds. For today’s post though I’ll talk about three I use frequently to help elevate a bound for me.

Often, I’m matching accessories to certain colors to fit the style or character I’m going for. So you’ll see a lot of nifty color patterns or even some off-the-wall colors in a lot of my posts. It’s all by design to really lift my bound and make them more glorious.

So take a look at three different accessories I use to make the most out of my bounds below:

november is that funny little month when we're still holding on to fall, but the holiday season is already knocking on the door. one minute we're grabbing coffee in a cozy sweater, and the next we're wondering what on earth we're going to wear to thanksgiving dinner, friendsgiving, or that first holiday get-together.

Halloween is one of my favorite excuses to have a little fun with personal style. I love a good costume moment, but I don't always love the idea of buying an entire outfit that I'm probably only going to wear once. And honestly? Some of the best Halloween looks can come together with pieces you already have hanging in your closet.

If you're anything like me, you probably have a few wardrobe staples, favorite accessories, and pieces you've collected over the years that could easily become the foundation of a Halloween costume. A black dress, a pair of tall boots, your favorite leather jacket, or even a little red lipstick can go a long way when you're getting creative.

Halloween is almost here, guys & dolls. 🎃

And if you're anything like me, October arrives and suddenly you're thinking, Wait... what am I actually going to be for Halloween?

I love a good Halloween costume, but I'm not necessarily looking to spend $200 on a costume I'll wear once—or wear something so uncomfortable that I spend the entire night wishing I had stayed home in pajamas.

For me, the best Halloween costumes are the ones that feel fun, a little nostalgic, a little dramatic, and still like you.Bonus points if you can build the costume from things you already have in your closet.

october in new york city is probably one of my favorite times to get dressed.

the weather finally gives us an excuse to pull out the jackets, boots, denim, sweaters, and all the little accessories that make an outfit feel like fall. it’s that sweet spot before winter dressing takes over — when you can still leave the house without five layers and a coat that weighs more than you do.

For October, I’m leaning into a blend of classic fall staples and a few more personality-driven details. Think rich, autumnal colors, really great jackets, well-fitting dark denim, chocolate-brown boots, and accessories that make even a simple jeans-and-sweater outfit feel thoughtful and intentionally styled.

there's something about september in new york city that makes me want to get dressed again.

august is all about surviving the heat and squeezing every last bit of summer out of the city. september feels different. suddenly the mornings are a little cooler, the sidewalks feel a little busier, and everyone seems to be returning to their routines.

There’s something about getting dressed in New York City that makes you rethink your entire wardrobe.

And honestly? I think getting older has changed the way I think about getting dressed, too.

In my 20s, I was much more willing to buy something simply because I thought it was cute. These days, I want my clothes to be cute and comfortable. I want pieces that can be worn five different ways, shoes I can actually walk in, and a wardrobe that makes getting dressed feel easier instead of more complicated.

there's something about august in new york city that feels different.

the city is still buzzing, but the pace starts to slow just enough to notice. the sunsets come a little earlier, the humidity finally gives you a break (sometimes), and suddenly everyone is talking about fall—even though we're still wearing sandals.

i've always loved this in-between season because getting dressed becomes more creative. it's less about chasing every summer trend and more about mixing the pieces you've been loving all season with a few hints of what's coming next.

july in new york city is its own thing.

the sidewalks are warm, the parks are full, and somehow every weekend turns into an adventure you didn't plan for. it's the month of iced coffees, ferry rides, outdoor concerts, spontaneous dinners, and staying out later than you meant to.

fashion follows that energy.

BELTS

I LOVE wearing belts with my bounds. When I was bigger it was a means to add color to my bounds or styles. Now it’s more of a means to keep my shape as I wear clothing. I’ve lost 50lbs and so my clothing doesn’t fit the way it should anymore. If you see below I added a belt to cinch my waist in because the dress was a little loose in the waist.

You can match the colors of a character or if you wanna add a whole different color to mix it up a bit.

SUNGLASSES

I usually wear them in the Spring/Summer and add them on to fit a theme mostly. Take this Tony Stark bound I tried out (below) Sunglasses were perfect because Tony wears them often! If I wanted to I could add a cute pair with an Ariel bound (made it pastel-colored) or maybe another Marvel character like Captain Marvel?

The possibilities are endless.

BERETS

If you’ve followed the blog for some time you’ll know how often I wear a beret and which seasons (hint: IT’S ALL OF THEM!). I usually use them to match the hair colors of characters when I don’t wanna dye my hair or change its style too much. It works perfectly especially in a bound like below with Ursula. I didn’t wanna spray my hair grey and I didn’t wanna make it look short. Enter in the beret!

I can’t even tell you how many I have. It’s that much.
